V SGC je zadržen asi patnáctiletý chlapec, který se pokoušel projít na základnu pomocí karty plukovníka O’Neilla. K údivu všech tvrdí, že je plukovník O’Neill. Zprvu tomu nikdo nechce věřít, i když chlapcovo chování silně Jacka připomíná. Navíc chlapec má znalosti o projektu hvězdné brány a členech SG-1, které by rozhodně mít neměl. Takže to vypadá, že to asi skutečně bude Jack O’Neill. Test DNA to až na drobnou abnormalitu potvrzuje. Dr. Fraiserová mu dělá další testy a zjistí, že se Jackovy buňky začínají rozpadat a že mu nezbývá příliš mnoho času. Tok´rové nabídnou pomoc - symbionta, ale Jack to rázně odmítá. Už jednou tím prošel a rozhodně to nepatřilo k nejpříjemnějším zážitkům. Při prohlídce bytu si Jack vybaví, že v noci, kdy došlo k jeho radikálnímu omlazení, byl unesen nějakým Asgardem. Daniel vyhledá informace o podobných případech, které se staly některým lidem na Zemi, a několik takových jedinců navštíví. Všechny případy jsou identické.

Nakonec vyjde najevo, že mladší verze O’Neilla je pouhý klon... a podle toho, jak probíhaly ostatní únosy, by Jacka měl ten Asgard zase vyměnit za originál. To se také stane. Když do domu vtrhnou Sam, Daniel a Teal´c, kteří venku sledovali, co se bude dít, leží ve své posteli pravý Jack O´Neill. Klon si s sebou vzal zat’nik’atel a podaří se mu na lodi Asgarda zneškodnit a transportovat na loď členy SG-1. Pravý O´Neill je poněkud zaskočen nastalou situací. Vychází najevo, že Asgard, který to vše způsobil, se jmenuji Loki. Snažil se pokusy s klonováním lidí zachránit Asgardy, jejichž společnost kvůli klonováni upadá, a byl za to z řad Asgardů vyhoštěn. Testy na lidech dělal bez vědomí ostatních Asgardů. O´Neill je navíc pro něj jedinečný... byl schopen pojmout vědomosti Antiků, což před ním žádný člověk nedokázal, a Loki se domníval, že by mohl být dalším krokem vpřed v evoluci lidstva a řešením asgardských problémů. SG-1 kontaktuje Thora, který poté dorazí na loď. Od Thora se dozvědí, že do O´Neillovy DNA byla umístěna značka, aby nemohl být klonován. Proto je klon tak mladý a umírá. Thor ovšem ví, jak to napravit. SG-1 spolu s Jackovým klonem poté vrací zpět na Zemi. Jackův klon se rozhodl vrátit se s nimi a žít na Zemi. Prvním krokem v kariéře je studium na škole.

Ya got yourself kicked outta the Oma Desala fan club and had your memory erased. And you and Bra’tac both just lost your snakes in a Goa’uld ambush. Had your tretonin yet this morning?“
Teal’c: „How could this child possess such knowledge?“
Young O’Neill: „Because... it’s... me.“

Hammond: „In the meantime, I suggest we try to make him as comfortable as possible.“
Carter: „I’ll go set up a PlayStation.“

Young O’Neill: „You know, uh, I think you two are enjoying this just... a little too much.“
Carter: „Well... you are kinda cute.“
Young O’Neill: „That’s ‘Sir’ to you! And being trapped inside a scrawny little body isn’t my idea of cute, Carter.“

Hammond: „Jack, try to understand. Your situation puts me in a very difficult position.“
Young O’Neill: „Uh, General, no offense, but you’re not the one who went to bed watching CNN and woke up as part of the MTV generation.“

Young O’Neill: „Sorry, I’m late.“ (he stands before the group of pilots as Carter follows him in) „What’d I miss?“
Carter: „We were just covering the 302’s flight capabilities.“
Young O’Neill: „Well, then, I’m just in time. Here’s what you need to know...“
Captain: „Major, is this a joke?“
Carter: „No... this is... Colonel O’Neill.“
Young O’Neill (as the pilots look at each other and smile): „I’m only gonna say this once, so I’d suggest that you listen up.“
Captain: „Whatever you say...“
Young O’Neill: „Hey! I realize it doesn’t actually say ‘Colonel’ anywhere on my uniform, but it should.“

Young O’Neill: „I don’t get it. We helped save their skinny asses from the replicators and as a thanks, they shrink me and leave me to die.“

Jacob: „Well, as I told Sam, our options are pretty limited.“
Young O’Neill: „You come all this way just to say goodbye?“
Jacob: „At this point, I’m here to recommend we put you in stasis until we better understand your condition.“
Young O’Neill: „You want to freeze me.“
Carter: „Colonel, we’re not talking about cryogenics as we know it here on Earth. The risk involved is minimal.“
Young O’Neill: „Yeah, well, I’ve been down this road with the Tok’ra before. No offense, Jacob, but the last time you guys helped me out of a jam... I ended up rescuing an old girlfriend I’d never met before.“
Jacob: „We would never subject you to another blending without your express permission.“

Má oblíbená epizoda, jedna z nejlepších z celé sedmé sezóny. Michael Welch v roli mladého Jacka O’Neilla je naprosto skvělý - dokonale odpozoroval gesta a sarkastické poznámky svého staršího protějšku a setkání obou Jacků patří k nejlepším momentům celé epizody.
